Paperblanks Flexi

As this isn’t a dot grid journal and I’m only using it because I purchased it years ago and love the cover so much, I won’t do a full review, and will just provide a few notes and photos below.

The Aurelia Softcover Flexi notebook by Paperblanks caught my eye a long time ago, with its luxurious royal filigree finish. It is absolutely lovely to run your hands over the cover and the paper feels beautiful too. I use this journal to track tasks and ideas for my house renovations.

This journal is larger than an A5 but is not quite B5 size. I’d like to see more journals in this size, but as it is non-standard I suppose that creates issues for printers. The flexible cover is very sturdy, stiff enough to allow you to write with it on your lap, doesn’t show marks and it lies perfectly flat. If you’d prefer a hardcover or different sizes or colours, Paperblanks has those too.

My one has blank pages, but there are marked page options from Paperblanks’ huge range. As its only 100gsm paper, I’ve had to be careful in choosing which pens and markers to use as a lot of them ghost or bleed. I’ve chosen to stick to a Uniball Signo ink pen for writing and do my headings with Tombow brush pens. The paper is so smooth to write on, but this also means having to be careful of smudging while the ink is still wet.

This journal is ideal for use as a traditional bullet journal or a diary. It copes with artwork, particularly if you just use water-based markers and coloured pencils.
