The Reverie journal by My Mellow Days is is a popular journal amongst the creative community who are looking for a dot grid notebook for bullet journaling that works well for watercolours (see Journal Away on Instagram). It performed well in the pen test with no bleeding or ghosting (except alcohol-based inks), and is well-constructed. It’s nice to see a watercolour paper journal that has FSC certification – I had previously been told paper like this wasn’t available. There’s really not much to say against this journal, so make sure you check it out.
My in-depth review video looks at the packaging and construction of the journal, the quality of the paper, interesting information about the company including their approach to environmental sustainability, and includes a pen test of a full range of pens and watercolour paints (with handmade paints by Humbeck Studios). See my pen test page for an explanation of each test.
This journal appears to be quite similar in many ways to the Primrosia Journal, which has a linen cover – so I’ll do a comparison review soon.
