Kleid Stationery is manufactured by the Nippon Group in Japan and has ‘OK Fools’ 80gsm paper that is designed for fountain pens. The cream paper has a slightly green tint, perhaps caused by the bluey/green 2mm grid markings. The paper is a pleasure to write on, but you’re going to have to test your more juicy pens or staining inks on a back page before you start writing – watch my review to find out why. Kleid and Nippon Group both have an excellent approach to sourcing wood from sustainable forestry, and Kleid has a good range of loose-leaf paper and binders to keep it in.
My in-depth review video looks at the company and their products, the construction, features and markings of the journal, the paper, the company’s approach to environmental and social responsibility, and includes a pen test of a full range of pens (with a special fountain pen test) and watercolour paints. See my pen test page for an explanation of each test.
