Rhodia

Commonly touted as one of the best notebooks for fountain pen use, the Rhodia range includes this softcover version in a huge range of colours – the Rhodiarama. It has 90gsm paper by Claire Fontaine and I’m very much looking forward to testing it soon.

I’m looking forward to writing in this journal with my fountain pens, because I’ve seen lots of comments online saying it is the best they’ve tried. The 90gsm Claire Fontaine paper, made in France, is silky smooth and a lovely ivory colour. I could have chosen the hardcover Rhodia Webnotebook, but it only comes in the traditional colours of Rhodia of orange and black, and I just couldn’t resist this gorgeous purple cover in the softcover version, called the Rhodiarama collection. I am impressed with the features included in the softcover, including a closure, bookmark ribbon and pocket, which other brands often omit. Fingers crossed the paper lives up to expectations.

My in-depth review video will look at the construction and features of the journal, the quality of the paper, interesting information about the company, and includes a pen test of a full range of pens and watercolour paints, with a special fountain pen test. See my pen test page for an explanation of each test.
