There was no question that I had to try Apica CD Notebooks, but they don’t have dot grid pages, and even the grid marked pages are hard to find. So in this case I settled for an A6 size with 6mm lines. I figured this would give me a chance to try the paper that is loved by fountain pen users. This is a simple notebook – quite different from my usual buy, but I love my fountain pens and I’m always keen to try a new paper. While it’s not FSC certified, as is typical of Japan, Oji Holdings own their own sustainably managed forests and have very strong environmental and social policies and practices.
My in-depth review video will look at the company and their products, the construction, features and markings of the journal, the paper, the company’s approach to environmental and social responsibility, and includes a pen test of a full range of pens (with a special fountain pen test) and watercolour paints. See my pen test page for an explanation of each test.
