Apica Premium CD

Apica Premium CD Notebooks have super-smooth paper perfect for fountain pens. I’ll be reviewing this premium version alongside the lower-value Apica CD notebook to see how they compare.

At first glance, there’s a distinct difference between the standard Apica CD notebook and the Apica Premium CD notebook. The premium version has far smoother paper. I’ll be interested to see how they compare in a pen test – I’ll be reviewing these two together. The Apica Premium CD notebook has a card cover, taped binding, with grid, lined or blank paper suited to fountain pens. It’s made to the high standards you always see of Japanese notebooks. The paper is not FSC certified but is from sustainable Japanese forestry.

My in-depth review video will look at the company and their products, the construction, features and markings of the journal, the paper, the company’s approach to environmental and social responsibility, and includes a pen test of a full range of pens (with a special fountain pen test) and watercolour paints. See my pen test page for an explanation of each test.
