2026 Part 2 – Gradient dots

I was originally going to use the materials I ended up using for July, but changed my mind and decided to keep it simple and just use a selection of markers to create rows of coloured dots. Ultra simple, so I spent a bit more time on the lettering, choosing a font that I’ve saved to my Pinterest board.
July – Australian native flora

I’ve been trying to come up with an idea for this scrapbooking paper ever since I saw the pad in a shop and couldn’t resist buying it. I didn’t use enough of it in this theme, so will have this quandary again in the future! The flowers are gorgeous and had a clear colour theme, so it was easy to choose complementary markers, and they really didn’t need anything else to bring together my pages.
August – Kawaii cats

I have never done a theme even remotely close to Kawaii before, but as soon as I saw these sticker rolls available at the Washi Tape Shop I had to have them, and they lended themselves perfectly to a Kawaii theme. This meant very full, cluttered pages. The only thing I’ve missed out on with a Kawaii theme is not having enough lists, because that’s not really something I use in my journal. I also couldn’t write with a fountain pen as I prefer to do, because it feathers too much when you have every second line filled in with markers. My pages are very busy, but I love the overall look of the theme.

I bought these beautiful Spring scene stickers from the Washi Tape Shop and was presented with the challenge of how to use them. I added the figures, and then decided I had to make some effort, so added my acrylic paints. I had just bought the lettering stencil, so wanted to try it out. While it might seem like stickers will be a quicker layout option, they can take just as long if you have to think about the layout and combine them with other elements, so no time-saving here!
