Scribbles that Matter 120gsm

I had to try the 120gsm version of the Scribbles that Matter journals, to compare the paper to the 160gsm. I decided to try a Pro cover, to see if it’s as durable as the decorative Iconic cover.

If you’ve seen my review of the 160gsm version, you’ll know that I wasn’t very impressed with the construction of the notebook, which had pages that weren’t glued in straight to the spine, you could see the spine between the signatures and various other issues. Thankfully, this 120gsm notebook had excellent construction – couldn’t fault it, although that does mean that the brand is inconsistent in quality. Hopefully you’ll get a good one. The cover is a bit bland and the leatherette is a bit softer than the Iconic version, so probably won’t be as durable to the knocks and marks that go along with carrying a journal around.

The 120gsm paper impressed me. Check out my review and especially the pen test to see the results, which I compare to the 160gsm version. There are tiny little marks that help you easily pick the middle of each side and middle of each page, making it quicker to work out your page layouts.

Unfortunately, Scribbles that Matter has abandoned seeking environmental sustainability accreditation, so they no longer have that over the other popular brands, making them an also-ran on that score.
