Disclaimer: Before I start, I’d like to point out that I search for information about the company, test the journal and prepare my review before reading any journal reviews by other users and creators. I base my opinion on my experience of ordering and receiving and using the journal, so if I get a journal with an issue, I don’t exchange it and base my review on my initial experience, because that was my experience as a genuine buyer of a product. Because of shipping costs from Australia, I tend not to return products unless they are unusable anyway!
Journal review: Takkti are truly offering something new and exciting for bullet journaling. This range has a journal cover that can be filled with inserts of your choice, including white dot grid, black dot grid and two booklets or one big one. The booklets slip into the cover and despite not having the weight of the cover to hold them down, they sit reasonably flat. The cover closes with a ribbon. There is no bookmark, pocket, marked pages, page numbers etc, but you can buy an adhesive pocket and pen loop from Takkti if you wish. You get the cover and the paper inserts and that’s it – true minimalism.
The white paper is 135gsm and the black paper is 120gsm.
This limited edition journal is hand-made in Croatia. There is an award-winning cork cover collection, and there will be other limited editions in future. I’m very much looking forward to trying both the white and the black paper. The creator of Takkti is very helpful and lovely to deal with.
My in-depth review video looks at the construction of the journal, the quality of the paper, interesting information about the company, and includes a pen test of a full range of pens and watercolour paints. See my pen test page for an explanation of each test.
