Creating a washi tape picture

  • by

Occasionally online, you will see someone has found a creative way to use washi tape in their artwork. These can be quite simple (like mine) or can be works of art that have taken days to make.

If you’re wondering how to create one of these pictures, I’ve created a video that will step you through the processes. I explain what I’m doing and why, and have lots of other useful bits of information peppered through the video as well. You will need washi tape, paper or your journal, tracing paper (anything transparent that you can draw on with a lead pencil), scissors, a craft knife if you have one (not essential), a lead pencil and an eraser.

If you’d like a template to practice on so you can plan along with me, you can download the girl on the cover of my video for free from my downloads page in either black and white or with the skin and hair coloured in.

I bought my washi tape from The Washi Tape Shop, who have a HUGE range of washi for all your projects. I have an affiliate link, so please support me by making your purchase via this link.
